Software Blocking & Bandwidth Limiting
Blocking or limiting the use of software can be one of the most significant methods to improve productivity, stop the unauthorized use of software and save valuable Internet bandwidth.
Have you ever tried to limit the bandwidth of personal downloads for music or video sharing? Our software blocking ability will allow you to easily place controls on software applications that download and store these types of downloads on a users workstation.
Resource Monitor comes with two predefined blocking groups and it allows you to set up unlimited blocking groups to meet your needs. Blocking groups define periods of time when a software application cannot run. When a user tries to run the software, a message is presented to the user and the application is terminated.
A default blocking group is assigned to an application but you are allowed to override this group on a per workstation basis. You can also turn off blocking on a per workstation basis.
Whether it's games, chat software, Internet browsers or proprietary applications, Resource Monitor can enforce your organization's computer usage policy.
