Installed Software
Find Out What Software Is Installed And When
New Software Is Installed.
Knowing what software
is installed is a key to monitoring.
Many times, you will find that users will install software
while they use the computer and then, uninstall the software
when they are done using the computer. They do this
so you will not find out what software they are using.
When PCMonitor is installed on your computer, an immediate
inventory, of all installed software, will be updated to the
database. Also, every time a new install or uninstall
occurs, an alert is generated to the administrative client.
This alert is important to review. It allows you to
judge if the software is appropriate and then decide if you
want to block its use.
When possible, PCMonitor tries to obtain a CD
key. If it cannot find the key, you can click on the
right pane to enter a key. This is helpful if you lose
the CD case or the unlocking key if it is downloaded software.
